What is The Peace Tour? It's wherever "WE" are.

Tysha and I will call in from wherever we are


We met a guy called "Chief".
Chief has a dog named Sammy that's 15 years old and will be put down soon.
Neighbors come by and harrass Chief about having not already done it.
He told me he won't put him down until Sammy can't walk and called him over as if to prove the time was not yet here.

He told me his dog does fall down and he isn't strong enough to pick him up and asked if he could come get us if he needed help.

When I asked about his living conditions he said he's too old to cook and mainly eats packaged stuff dropped off by locals. He said he'd appreciate a hot meal.

We met a guy named Boone.......

Boone was the first guy when we showed up to offer help.
I wasn't quite sure what kind of help we needed but he seemed like a nice enough guy.

He's an ex Hells Angel and lectures Tysha about being careful when she's running around offering people help. He always tells us he's got our back. And he does. He's a stand up guy.

Boone was the lead electrician at a casino here in Reno before losing his job due to illness.
He ended up here in the RV park after losing everything he owned to medical bills.
The owner of the park knew Boone and offered to let him live in a trailer that had been confiscated from drug dealers and left on the property. When he was helping me hook up my trailer he commented on the irony of living in a trailer himslef after having worked with Habitat for Humanity as an elcetrician helping others have their own home.

Boone knows everywhere you can go in town to get just about anything free.
Cheese, bread, food, etc ... Boone is the hook up and he shares freely.

Two hours ago he returned from the hospital and told me he has 12 months to live.
He's already done Chemo and had been to the hospital this morning to see if it had worked.

When he gave me the news I gave him a big hug and we cried.

So that's what The Peace Tour is about... life and our attempt to live it well

Well Boone is an example.
How does a guy that found out he's gonna die spend the rest of his day?

He's showing Tysha all the places in town to get free food so she can start feeding the park.
She's making big crock pots of veggie food every day and feeding any who come.
We're making a sign up sheet for anyone that would like a hot meal brought to them.

If a few people eat a hot meal today that otherwise would not because of "The Peace Tour"
than The Peace Tour is a success.

We plan to contact local nonprofits and put some things in place here before we leave to ensure everyone is fed after we leave.
